The SABA Trail Committee is leading group trail work days at Jackrabbit on the dates listed below. The goal is to complete trail clearing in preparation for the construction of new trails later this year. Only SABA members who have taken the USFS chainsaw certification class will be permitted to use saw’s, but others are needed to use lopper’s and help remove brush from the flag line. The USFS will be conducting a chainsaw certification class in February of 2019- anyone interested in taking this class should contact SABA before the end of January.
For trail work day’s, please wear appropriate clothing for working in the woods along with closed toe shoes. Bring water/snacks. Some tools will be provided, but if you have lopper’s or small hand tools you may bring those. We will meet at the Jackrabbit trailhead at 9:00am on the dates listed below. We may travel a short distance per car to reach the entrance location, then walk a distance in the woods to the work site. Terrain conditions will vary from open/gentle slopes to very steep side slopes, rocky and/or brushy.
Come join us and HELP SABA BUILD MORE TRAILS!
