Mark your calendars! SABA will be leading trail clearing work days in preparation for future trail construction. This will consist of cutting brush/tree and clearing this from the flagged route. The terrain will vary- some sites are very steep, rocky or very brushy/briars while others are very open. Wear long pants/long sleeve shirt/jacket/gloves/sturdy shoes, etc. Bring your own water/snacks. Some tools will be available, but if able please bring lopper’s, or hand held saw (only those trained by USFS are allowed to use chainsaws). We may be walking in a distance to get to many sites. We will meet at the trailhead to discuss what site we will enter at on the Jackrabbit Mountain (this will vary according to trail work location).
We are alternating work days on Saturday’s and Sunday’s to determine which dates work best for most. Come out and be a part of creating a new trail!
