Piney Knob Trails Grand Opening & Fun Group Ride/Hike
Grand Opening ceremonies and 1st Annual Just for Fun Group Ride are scheduled for November 18, 2017 from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. at Piney Knob Trail System in Murphy, NC.
Directions:
From Andrews: From the 129/74/19 4-lane, turn right onto Regal Road (directly across from the entrance to the Casino). Go approximately .5 miles. Turn right on to Piney Knob Hill Road. Cross over railroad tracks and continue straight across and up the middle gravel road and through the yellow gate. Go 1.1 miles (Yes, the road is small and bumpy– don’t give up). Road dead ends into the parking area and trailhead.
About Piney Knob Trail System:
The town of Murphy, North Carolina has finished the first 7 miles of recreational hiking and mountain biking trails on the 700+ acre Murphy Watershed property off of Piney Knob Hill Road. This is the first phase of a planned 22.3-mile system.
All trails are dirt single-track trails and have been built in accordance with International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) standards.
